Prairie High School Key Club members made 520 holiday cards from home to be sent to the staff at Prairie High School, The Gardens Care Center and the Veterans Home in Marshalltown. Cards were also sent to the medical workers at Mercy Hospital and St. Luke’s/UnityPoint Hospitals to wish them a happy holiday during a very hard year for them.
Another Key Club tradition is making fleece blankets for the Catherine McAuley Center’s Transitional Housing Unit. This year 66 blankets were made at home – a new record. The Catherine McAuley Center was damaged in the derecho in August so the blankets were needed more than ever. Since the project began, Key Club has donated a total of 284 blankets.
